At The Engine Room in the heart of Battersea Power Station – a luxurious workspace where you can be compelled and inspired by one of the most prestigious locations in the world. A flagship workspace venue of IWG PLC held a fantastic FSB event covering AI’s impact on small business.
Whilst there are various AI technologies that are available to help with the accomplishment of tasks and activities faster and more efficiently, I highlighted the capabilities available through Microsoft Copilot.
Let’s start with the world today. Things all around us are changing rapidly, and organisations need to adapt. This is nothing new.
If you look back just a few years, we saw that organisations that had already invested in their own digital foundation were able to weather the disruption of the pandemic better than their peers, with many of them emerging even stronger than before.
We believe we’re on the cusp of a similar inflection point today.
The pressures today are different. After years of disruption driven by the pandemic, industries are continuing to transform quickly. The global workforce is shrinking as the population ages, and at a macro level, labour productivity has stalled for years. With a more connected global population, we’ve seen security threats emerge and evolve faster than ever.
But the pace of change hasn’t slowed.
We are entering the age of AI. AI is going to profoundly change how we work and how our organisations operate.
AI will provide a catalyst that will dramatically improve productivity if we apply it well. AI is going to define new ways for humans to amplify their impact, their capability and their unique potential.
In today’s digital age, small businesses are constantly seeking ways to streamline operations, improve productivity, and optimise resources. Microsoft 365’s Copilot is a tool that can significantly contribute to these objectives.
Copilot, as an AI-powered assistant, can help small businesses streamline their operations. It can manage tasks such as scheduling meetings, organising emails, and even drafting responses. This allows business owners and their teams to focus on more strategic tasks, thereby saving time and increasing efficiency.
Copilot can also play a crucial role in improving productivity. It can provide instant answers to queries, offer suggestions based on context, and even learn from user interactions to provide personalised assistance. This means less time spent on searching for information and more time on task execution.
For small businesses, resource optimisation is key. Copilot can help here by reducing the need for additional administrative staff. As an AI assistant, it can handle a multitude of tasks that would otherwise require human intervention. This not only saves on hiring costs but also allows existing staff to be utilised in areas where they can add more value.
But Microsoft 365’s Copilot is more than just an AI assistant. It’s a tool that can support small businesses in their journey towards digital transformation. By streamlining operations, improving productivity and optimising resources, Copilot can help small businesses thrive in today’s competitive landscape.
